Christmas Tag

The idea of playing “Christmas Tag” came from the lovely Debbie at Deb’s World.  Please stop by her blog to read her Christmas Tag post.  I would love to hear your answers too, so feel free to join in the game!  You can still join in even if Christmas isn’t your thing, just answer the questions based the Holiday that you and your family celebrate!

  1. What is your favourite Christmas film?  Elf

  2. Have you ever had a white Christmas? Lots of them!  I grew up in Western Michigan.

  3. Where do you usually spend your Holiday? At home, or with family.

  4. What is your favourite Christmas song? Christmas(Baby Please Come Home) by U2

  5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?  We do now that we live in Germany.  We didn’t when we lived in the States.

  7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to the most this year?  Baking with my daughter.

  8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?  Fake, sadly.  We usually had a real tree in the States.  But here we live on the 4th floor, and I will not make my husband drag a live tree up 4 flights of stairs.

  9. What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?  All of them!  I have a major sweet tooth.

  10. Be honest:  Do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better? Both equally.

  11. What is the best Christmas gift you have ever received?  There have been several wonderful gifts over the years.  But, the best was the wine fridge from my Mom.

  12. What would be your dream place to visit for the Holiday season?  Any place with lots of snow!

  13. Are you a pro present wrapper?  Or do you fail miserably?  A dismal failure.  I usually do not wrap them, just stick them in a bag.

  14. Most memorable holiday moment? Walking around my Grandma Leggett’s table and sneaking all of the dill pickles before anyone else could get them.  Then, my cousin Preston tried to do the same, but got a mouthful of sweet pickles.  Ugh!

  15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?  I recognized my Mother’s hand writing and called her out on it.

  16. Do you make New Year’s resolutions?  Do you stick to them? Yes, sometimes….

  17. What do you wish for Christmas this year? Just a little snow, please.

  18. What makes the Holidays special for you? Getting together with family and cooking.

  19. Favourite Christmas smell? Fresh pine.

  20. What is the worst/weirdest gift you have ever received? No idea, I am sure I have blocked all of those out of my mind.

  21. Favourite Holiday drink? Homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream.  I used to make it each year and give it as gifts.

  22. Have you ever spent Christmas is another country?  If yes, where?  Last year(2017) was my first year in Germany.  Otherwise all were spent in the States.

  23. What place/landmark in your town do you love to visit during Christmas? The Christmas Markets near the Köln Cathedral.  So beautiful!

  24. Were you naughty or nice this year?  I try to keep this balanced as best as I can.

  25. Do you own/wear a Christmas themed jumper or T-Shirt?  Of course, as an American I feel this is a requirement.

Please join in!  I would love to know your answers too!  Happy Holidays to you all!!

      1. I lost the recipes I used when my computer crashed several years ago – you would think I would learn to print such things – now if I decide to make it again I will be back to searching for a recipe.

  1. I live in Florida, but I love Hawaiian Christmas stuff SO much. I had a Hawaiian Christmas party a few years back and made party gifts for everyone like shell necklaces from the shells I found on my beach, and suncatchers from sea glass. They were a real hit and I had the most fun making them. I need to do that again!

And Mele Kalikimaka is the best Christmas song ever!

  2. I agree about the pine – and too funny with Santa’s handwriting! How do you feel about giving gifts on Christmas Eve now. is it better than Christmas morning? I guess for parents you don’t have the trouble of children not wanting to go to sleep, but you have them waiting around all day till it’s time to open up the gifts, so I guess it works out about the same.

  3. I just saw Katies answers, so popped over to see yours. I am glad you’re feeling a bit more Christmassy! Germany must be pretty amazing at Christmas, but it’s hard if you’re missing home.

I’ll try to do this too. ❤
