I found the idea for this post over at Theycallmetater. He found the idea at Ashley’s Blog and she found it at The Boundless Books Blog. It just seems like a bit of fun. I haven’t done anything interesting or fun in a while. Which means I have nothing much of my own to write about. So, here you go.
Author You’ve Read the Most From:
Probably Stephen King, Anne Rice, Andrew Vachss, or Neil Gaimon.
Best Sequel Ever:
I read many books that are part of a series, I can’t think of one that stands out more than another.
I am reading a few books right now. The Darkening Age by Catherine Nixy. It’s about the Christian destruction of the classical world. I am also reading The Barrytown Triology by Roddy Doyle. I have seen all three movies, but have never read the books. The trilogy includes The Commitments, The Snapper, and The Van. So far I am really enjoying both books, well all four really.
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Tea with a heavy splash of Amaretto.
E-Reader or Physical Book:
A physical book for sure, I will use an E-Reader if I have to, but a real book is always my go to choice.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated in High School:
As twisted as this seems, I would have dated Burke from the world of Andrew Vachss.
Glad You Gave This Book a Chance:
Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Loved the TV series of this as well.
Hidden Gem Book:
In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson
Important Moment in Your Reading Life:
Reading the Hobbit and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, showed me worlds that I have loved my entire lifetime.
I just finished re-reading Terry Brooks The Sword of Shanarra, loved it as much as <i did when I first read it.
Kind of Books You Won’t Read:
Most Christian Fiction.
Longest Book You Read:
All of George R.R. Martin’s books
Major Book Hangover:
So many, I often want books to go on and on. Or at least be able to stay in that world longer. Probably the Harry Potter books.
Number of Bookcases You Own:
One, but I still have most of my books stored at my daughter’s house and Adrienne’s house in the States. Someday I will be able to have them shipped here to Germany.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
I love to re-read books. All of the Harry Potter books, Good Omens by Neil Gaimon, and The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.
Preferred Place to Read:
In bed, or outside in the yard if it is a nice warm day.
Quotes that Inspires You/Gives You All the Feels From a Book You’ve Read:
“When the first living thing existed, I was there, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job will be finished. I’ll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights, and lock the universe behind me when I leave.” The character Death from Neil Gaimon’s Sandman series.
The Twighlight Books. They were recommended by a friend who knew that I loved vampire stories. Clearly she didn’t know the type of vampire stories that I like.
Series You Started and Need to Finish (all books are out in series):
Midnight Texas series by Charlaine Harris
Three of Your All Time Favorite Books:
This list changes as fast as my mood:
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
- Heart in Atlantis by Stephen King
- Good Omens by Neil Gaimon
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
The Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, pure fun.
Worst Book Habit:
Starting a new book, then another and another and then have 4 active reads going on.
X Marks the Spot: Start at the Top Lef of Your Shelf and Pick the 27th Book:
The Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch
Your Latest Book Purchase:
Iron Kingdom by Christopher Clark, and Blood and Iron by Katja Hoyer
ZZZ-Snatcher Book (last book that kept you up Way Late):
I’m not much of a night time reader anymore. I do remember many years ago when Witching Hour by Anne Rice came out, I stayed up all night to finish the book so that I could discuss it with my co-worker Steve.
I would Love to have others join in on this post! Let me know who your favourite authors are, and what is your favourite book?
